Business Journal Recognizes Conferencing Technologies as a Way for Small Businesses to Save November 20, 2009

Today, the Jacksonville Business Journal ran a story about what used to be considered a glitzy technological luxury and is now a way for small businesses to cut transportation and training costs – virtual meetings.

More companies are recognizing the tremendous cost savings web conferencing, web casting, and podcasts can afford.  The article references some proud RollCall Business Conferencing Solutions’  customers, like the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation and Patriot Transportation

Keli Coughlin, the Jay Fund Foundation’s Executive Director told the Business Journal, “By using webinars to connect board members in New York and New Jersey to Jacksonville members, the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation cuts down on transportation costs. Not having to fly board members down to Jacksonvillesaves the nonprofit at least $600 monthly.  It took a little time to understand the logistics of how to do it, but board members were comfortable with it from the onset.”  RollCall works hand in hand with our customers to make sure every meeting is a success.

The article goes on to cite another RollCall Conferencing client, Patriot Transportation Holding Co.  They use webinars to instruct its employees at its 22 Southeast terminals about new systems and processes.  Mike Gilbertsen, the company’s director of information technology said that before Patriot began using webinars in 2006, employees had to travel either to Valdosta, Ga., or Jacksonville for company-wide training. The company used to have phone conferences in place of webinars, but it wasn’t able to get as many people online as it does with Internet-driven technology. Plus, the webinars can be recorded and played back by employees looking for a refresher course, Gilbertsen said.”

After RollCall completed its integration of its recent acquisition, Variview Technologies, RollCall reduced the standard webcasting prices by nearly half of the price mentioned in the article.  Complete videowebcasts now only cost about $2,250 and audio webcasts (like podcasts) cost companies about $1,000.   For more information on RollCall webcasting, please visit www.800rollcall.com.
